Module 1

Welcome to CBD Basics

You’ve probably heard a lot about CBD recently. It’s in lotions, gummies, oils, and even coffee. But what exactly is it, and why is everyone talking about it?

What is CBD?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant. Hemp has been used for thousands of years for wellness and industrial purposes.

The Big Question: Will it get me high?
No. While CBD comes from the cannabis family, it does not contain high levels of THC (the compound that causes a "high"). CBD is non-intoxicating, meaning you get the wellness benefits of the plant without mind-altering effects.

Why do people use it?

People turn to CBD as a natural alternative to help manage daily stresses, support recovery from exercise, soothe physical aches, and promote better sleep. Over the next few lessons, we'll explain exactly how it does this inside your body.

Module 2

How It Works: The Master Thermostat

Endocannabinoid System Diagram

To understand how CBD helps with pain, anxiety, and sleep, you need to know about a hidden system inside your body called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

The Body's Thermostat

Think of the ECS as your body's master thermostat. If a room gets too hot, the thermostat kicks on the AC to bring it back to a comfortable temperature. Your ECS does the same thing for your body—it constantly works to keep everything in balance (a state called homeostasis).

Imbalance
(Stress, Pain, etc.)
CBD + ECS
(The Helper Key)
Homeostasis
(Restoring Balance)
  • If you are in pain, the ECS tries to turn down the inflammation.
  • If you are stressed, the ECS tries to calm your nervous system.
  • If you are wide awake at midnight, the ECS tries to signal that it's time to sleep.

Locks and Keys

Your ECS uses a "lock and key" system to send these signals. You have receptors (locks) all over your brain, organs, and immune system. Your body naturally produces its own chemicals (keys) that fit into these locks to tell the body to relax or heal.

Where CBD Comes In: Sometimes, due to chronic stress or age, our body doesn't produce enough "keys" to keep up. CBD acts like a helper. It prevents your body's natural keys from breaking down too quickly, ensuring the "thermostat" stays working perfectly.

Module 3

CBD for Aches & Pains

Whether it's sore muscles after a workout, stiff joints in the morning, or general body aches, pain is usually your body's alarm system telling you something is wrong.

Turning Down the Volume

Remember those receptors (locks) we talked about? Many of them are located in your nervous system and immune system. When you experience pain, these systems sound the alarm. CBD interacts with your Endocannabinoid System to effectively turn down the volume on those pain signals traveling to your brain.

Putting Out the Fire (Inflammation)

A lot of common pain is caused by inflammation. If pain is the alarm, inflammation is the fire.

Research suggests that CBD has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. By helping the body naturally reduce swelling and inflammation at the source, CBD doesn't just mask the pain—it helps address one of the root causes of the discomfort.

Pro Tip: For localized pain (like a sore knee or stiff neck), topical CBD creams or balms are highly effective because they can be rubbed directly onto the problem area, interacting immediately with the receptors in the skin and muscles.

Module 4

CBD for Anxiety & Stress

In our modern world, our "fight or flight" response is constantly being triggered by work, traffic, news, and endless notifications. Over time, this constant stress exhausts the body and mind.

Regulating the Alarm System

When you are stressed, your body pumps out cortisol (the stress hormone). Think of cortisol like a revving car engine. CBD helps the Endocannabinoid System hit the brakes, signaling to your brain that it is safe to lower cortisol levels and calm down.

The Serotonin Connection

Serotonin is often called the "happy chemical." It regulates mood and anxiety. While CBD doesn't produce serotonin, studies show that CBD may influence how your brain's receptors respond to the serotonin that is already in your system.

The Result: People who use CBD for stress often describe the feeling not as being "sedated," but simply noticing the absence of their usual background anxiety. It takes the "edge" off, allowing for a clear, calm mind.

Module 5

CBD for Better Sleep

We all know how terrible it feels to toss and turn all night. Many over-the-counter sleep aids simply knock you out, leaving you feeling groggy and "hungover" the next morning.

Tackling the Root Causes of Sleeplessness

CBD takes a different approach. It is not a heavy sedative. Instead, it helps you sleep by addressing the reasons you are awake in the first place.

  • Racing Thoughts: By calming the nervous system (as we learned in the Anxiety module), CBD helps quiet the mind so you can drift off.
  • Physical Discomfort: By turning down pain signals and reducing inflammation, CBD allows your body to find a comfortable resting state.

Promoting Deep Sleep Cycles

Because CBD helps maintain homeostasis (balance), it supports the body's natural circadian rhythm. By promoting a state of deep relaxation, it helps you enter the restorative phases of sleep (like REM and Deep Sleep) more easily, allowing you to wake up feeling genuinely refreshed.

Pro Tip: For the best results, take a sleep-focused CBD gummy about 30 to 45 minutes before your desired bedtime to give your body time to absorb it and begin winding down.

How to Choose and Use CBD

Ready to try CBD? Here is a quick guide to getting started safely and effectively.

1. Know Your Types

CBD products generally come in three different formulas. Here is what is inside the bottle for each type:

Full Spectrum
CBD Terpenes THC (<0.3%)
Broad Spectrum
CBD Terpenes No THC
CBD Isolate
Pure CBD No Terpenes No THC
  • Full Spectrum: Generally considered the most effective due to the "entourage effect" (the natural plant compounds work better together).
  • Broad Spectrum: Great if you want to avoid THC entirely, while still keeping some helpful plant compounds.
  • Isolate: 100% pure CBD. No other plant compounds.

2. Start Low and Go Slow

Everyone's Endocannabinoid System is unique. What works for your friend might be too much or too little for you. Start with a small dose (e.g., 10-15mg) and wait a few days to see how you feel before increasing it.

3. Consistency is Key

CBD works best when it builds up in your system. Taking it daily is like taking a daily vitamin for your Endocannabinoid System. Give it at least 2 weeks of consistent use to see the full benefits.

Congratulations!

CBD School: Glossary

A reference guide for navigating hemp-based wellness.

CBD Isolate The Cleanest Possible Form
CBD Isolate is 99%+ pure CBD with all other plant matter, oils, and minor cannabinoids removed.

Why we use it: We utilize pure Isolate in our Mello Gummies because it is the most refined form of CBD available. It is the ideal choice for clients who wish to minimize THC exposure for any reason, including potential concerns regarding drug screenings.
Broad-Spectrum CBD The Entourage Effect, Refined
Broad-spectrum hemp extract contains a wide range of cannabinoids and terpenes naturally found in the plant, but with the THC specifically removed to non-detectable levels.

The Daily Relief Standard: We primarily use Broad-Spectrum in our Targeted Direct Support topicals to provide the "Entourage Effect"—where plant compounds work in harmony—without the presence of THC.
Bioavailability The Measure of Absorption
Bioavailability refers to the amount of CBD that actually enters your bloodstream to produce an effect. For example, our topicals are formulated to penetrate the skin efficiently, while our Mello Gummies are designed for steady, systemic absorption through digestion.

Why it matters: Higher bioavailability means you get more "relief per milligram."
COA (Certificate of Analysis) The Product’s Birth Certificate
A COA is a document from an accredited third-party laboratory that verifies the potency and purity of a CBD product. It confirms that what is on the label is exactly what is in the jar.

Our Promise: Every Daily Relief batch is tested for heavy metals, pesticides, and potency to ensure transparency and safety.
Endocannabinoid System (ECS) Your Body’s Internal Compass
The ECS is a complex cell-signaling system that helps regulate critical functions like sleep, mood, appetite, and immune response. CBD interacts with receptors (CB1 and CB2) within this system to help maintain a state of balance known as "Homeostasis."
Entourage Effect Better Together
The concept that cannabinoids and terpenes are more effective when used together than in isolation. Like the Sonoran landscape—the Saguaro, Ocotillo, and Creosote all play a role in a healthy ecosystem. Hemp compounds work in harmony to enhance each other's benefits.
Terpenes The Scent of the Desert
Terpenes are aromatic oils that give plants their distinct scent—much like the refreshing aroma of rain on a Creosote bush. In hemp, terpenes contribute to the plant's therapeutic profile and work alongside cannabinoids to provide relief.

Transparency & Trust

What’s in Your Wellness?

At Daily Relief®, we believe you deserve to know exactly what goes onto your skin and into your body. That’s why every batch of our soothing topicals is rigorously tested by independent, third-party laboratories.

How to Read Our Lab Reports

Industry lab reports — known as Certificates of Analysis (COAs) — can look a bit scientific. Here is your simple translation guide so you can feel completely confident in your Daily Relief® routine.

  • ND or <LOQ = Zero THC If you see “ND” (None Detected) or “<LOQ” (Limit of Quantitation) next to THC, it means the lab could not find any trace. Our products are safe, non-psychoactive, and designed for pure relief.
  • Total Active CBD This is the total amount of soothing CBD in the container. We formulate generously, so you will often see that our products contain slightly more CBD than the label promises.
  • Independent Verification To protect our proprietary supply chain, the specific production facility name is redacted on our public reports. However, the independent testing laboratory (ACS Laboratory), batch numbers, and all safety results remain 100% unaltered. We partner with a premier, fully compliant US facility to ensure our formulas meet the highest standard of purity.
